Fall Bucket List

It's hard to believe that it's already fall. Can you believe that there are only 78 days until Christmas? There's so much to do before the so-called El NiƱo winter weather hits the area.
At the encouragement of The DC Ladies and their Blogtober14 Challenge, I created a fall bucket list to keep myself busy and hold myself accountable. Here's my list:
Register For and Attend a Preemie Conference:  Preemies Today is holding a conference on November 16 to promote preemie child development and family engagement. Although I've heard several of the speakers before, I'd like to attend the event to be supportive and meet other preemie parents, some of whom I've only met virtually.

Continue to Work with My Daughter on Feeding and Speech Issues:  My daughter, Emily, continues to have feeding and speech challenges. I plan to offer her solids at least three times a day. Although these feedings may not end up being full meals, it would be great if I could get Emily to consume solids regularly as a snack. I'd also like to continue to help her learn her body parts and plan to focus on one area each week.
Participate in a Halloween Activity as a Family:  Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday. I'm not sure why, but it might be due to a bad trick-or-treating experience in which I encountered a very aggressive dog. Nevertheless, I'd like to make a costume for Emily and participate in our neighborhood Halloween parade.

Attend A Hockey Game with my Husband:  My husband, Craig, is a HUGE Washington Capitals fan. Now that there are three of us, it's difficult for me to attend games with him. I'd like to attend at least one game with him this fall. In fact, I plan to attend the upcoming Capitals-Canadiens game with him.

Take a "Me Day:" Last November, my husband gave me an incredible gift certificate for a spa day. I still haven't taken advantage of his thoughtful and generous gift, but I think it's time to schedule a day to relax and unwind.

What's on your fall bucket list? If you write down your bucket list, your goals may be more likely to happen!

  1. Aww! Lots of love to you and your daughter!
You definitely deserve that spa day!

  2. I'm holding you to that preemie conference one. I need someone to sit with! :)
